The Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership (MCCRP) promotes travel on the Mid Cheshire Railway Line, develops and improves facilities along the route and connects with the diverse communities along the Line. The Mid Cheshire Line runs from Manchester Piccadilly to Chester via Stockport, Altrincham, Knutsford, Northwich and Delamere, calling at many picturesque villages on its journey through the beautiful Cheshire countryside.
The Partnership organises the Music Trains programme which usually run from April to October. A special Music Train is arranged for the Knutsford Music Festival. Music Trains have lively music on board and at destinations along the Line. The Rail Partnership also supports Station Friends Groups which improve local stations in many creative ways including poetry boards, planting schemes and art displays. They welcome new volunteers who would like to get involved. In 2020, the Partnership brought a Wildlife Art Exhibition to Tatton Park in partnership with the Cheshire Wildlife Trust and Cheshire East Council. The ‘Gallery in the Gardens’ exhibition was created by acclaimed local artist Nicky Thompson and will be displayed at Vickersway Park in Northwich over the summer months, with an activity trail for primary age children. Wildlife posters and Knutsford posters and mugs are available for sale at the Knutsford Heritage Centre, Tatton Park shop and Cheshire Quality shop on King Street, plus online at Crewe Heritage Centre webshop.
